Barcelona Guitar Trio
As part of the Maestros de la Guitarra festival, three great virtuosos of the Spanish guitar – Manuel González, Xavier Coll and Luis Robisco – combine their talents to offer an unforgettable experience.
The chosen venues for these concerts by the Barcelona Guitar Trio are as delightful as the concerts themselves: the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Basílica de Santa María del Pi. Considered to be a masterpiece of Art Nouveau, the beautiful and world-famous Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997, and is where Orfeó Català is based. The exquisite Basílica de Santa María del Pi, built in the Gothic style, was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1931. Particular highlights here are the ribbed vault (one of the largest in Spain), the great rose window (the largest in Cataluña) and the high octagonal belfry.
Manuel González and Xavier Coll, two world-renown virtuosi, together with Luis Robisco, an illustrious ambassador of Flamenco guitar, perform music by Spanish masters (such as Isaac Albéniz or Manuel de Falla) and by other composers such as Astor Piazzolla and Chick Corea.
Come and enjoy this magnificent concert, experiencing Spanish culture via one of its most important exponents – the Spanish guitar.
